Two killed, two injured in boat collision on Lake Allatoona

<p>Two people were killed and two others injured when two boats collided on Lake Allatoona early Wednesday morning.</p><p>The accident happened around 1:30 a.m. when the two boats slammed into each other in the middle of the lake.</p><p>A man and a woman aboard a small cabin cruiser apparently tried to put an anchor down, authorities said. But the anchor did not drop and the boat began to drift out into the lake, where a ski boat slammed into it.</p><p>The man and woman on the cabin cruiser were killed. One man who was aboard the ski boat was taken to the hospital and another was treated at the scene. A Georgia State Patrol helicopter searched the lake for other possible victims but called it off after not finding any.</p><p>Authorities said the lake has been the site of other nighttime accidents, including a fatal accident last week that killed Dustin Bell, 18.</p>
