Atlanta Braves catcher Johnny Estrada and manager Bobby Cox were ejected in the first inning of Thursday night's rain-delayed game against the Florida Marlins along with left-hander Mike Hampton, who's on the disabled list with an injured forearm.

The ejections occurred shortly after Paul Lo Duca backed out of the batters' box, then returned and got set for a 2-2 pitch from Atlanta's Roman Colon.

Umpire Doug Eddings suddenly turned and gestured, throwing Estrada out of the game. Estrada then stood, turned and appeared to bump Eddings. Cox ran out to argue and also was tossed by Eddings, the manager's second ejection of the season.

Television cameras showed Estrada making an obscene gesture in Eddings' direction after he entered the Braves' dugout. Cox also remained in the dugout for about four more minutes, shouting at Eddings _ who apparently threw Hampton out for arguing as well.

Estrada was replaced by Brian McCann after the delay, which lasted six minutes. The game started 2:46 late because of rain.
