MIAMI (AP) Miami-Dade County police want to talk with Washington Redskins' safety Sean Taylor. He's a ``person of interest'' in an assault case.
Police say they need to learn if he's a victim, witness or suspect in an assault that took place Wednesday night. Shots were fired. And that's all police say they have.
Taylor, who wants a new contract, has been working out in Miami despite pleas from coach Joe Gibbs to join the team in voluntary workouts at their home base in suburban Washington.
Since being selected as the number-five pick in the 2004 draft, the former Miami Hurricane has fired two agents, been fined for skipping one day of the N-F-L's mandatory rookie symposium, been accused of spitting on a player during a game at Cincinnati, and been charged with drunken driving, though the charges were eventually dismissed.
