GAINESVILLE - Her attorney said Friday morning Jennifer Wilbanks, who settled charges against her in Gwinnett County Thursday is bent on regaining her strength and her life.

"So, she is very pleased to have that (the court appearance) phase behind her," Sartain said on ABC-TV's Good Morning America, adding that Wilbanks, thrust into the national spotlight when she fled Duluth just days before her wedding, has resumed her mental therapy.

"She just was out to handle her court appearance. She continues to be very emotionally distraught, emotionally disturbed. So, she, of course, went back into treatment."

Sartain, appearing on the network morning news show from downtown Gainesville, noted that the therapy is a part of the probation agreement the Gainesville native entered into with Gwinnett County after pleading "no contest" Thursday to a felony charge of making a false statement, filed against her for statements she made to police in Gwinnett County after surfacing in New Mexico several days after her disappearance .

Wilbanks was indicted last week on charges of making a false statement and making a false police report. She could have faced up to six years in prison and $11,000 in fines if convicted of both charges. The misdemeanor false report charge was dropped as part of her plea deal.
