Camp Coca-Cola encourages young people to pursue academic excellence and serve their communities as leaders. The keystone experience for the students is a four-week stay at camp each summer for up to five years. There are opportunities to travel, to meet community leaders, and to be part of a talented and motivated group of young people.
Each of the attendees was nominated for Camp Coca-Cola and then went through a competitive process with other youth from across Georgia, according to club officials.
Each child completed an application and an essay about leaders in their life as well as interviews with the representatives from Coca- Cola.
Those headed to the camp this summer are: Kenneth Barr, Teryan Rucker, Tevin Yarbrough, Montrell King, Dorreka Faulkner, and Janai Dorsey. Two additional Club members, Gregory Hendrix and Khadijah Ali, are serving as alternates.
In order to remain active in Camp Coca-Cola, participants must perform annual service to their community, maintain passing grades, attend Camp Coca-Cola events, and stay involved in community organizations.
