Cards' Larry Walker talks retirement

TORONTO - 1997 National League MVP Larry Walker says he might retire after this baseball season.<br> <br> The 38-year-old Canadian is hitting .249 with five homers and 23 RBI with St. Louis this season.<br> <br> He said he had an inclination last year that his time was up, but decided to play this year and see what happens. The three-time batting champion calls the season a grind, and says age, eight surgeries and a reconstructed knee are slowing him.<br> <br> Walker said he&#39;ll retire for sure if the Cardinals win the World Series. He&#39;ll also consider moving to an American League team and becoming a designated hitter, adding his heart will still be there, but his body is saying, ``Come on buddy.&#34;
