GAINESVILLE, Fla. (AP) Florida guard Anthony Roberson opted Tuesday to remain in the upcoming NBA draft, eliminating any chance of returning for his senior season.
Roberson joins teammates Matt Walsh and David Lee in the June 28 draft. Roberson and Walsh are the first Florida players to leave school early since Mike Miller and Donnell Harvey did so in 2000 and became first-round picks.
Roberson had left open the possibility of returning to school when he declared for the draft in April, but coach Billy Donovan said Roberson told him Tuesday morning he planned to keep his name in the draft pool.
Tuesday was the deadline for underclassmen who don't sign with agents to withdraw from the draft and return to school.
Roberson averaged a team-high 17.5 points a game last season and led the Southeastern Conference in scoring during league play at 20.8 points a game. He also led the league in free throw shooting at 90 percent.
