Rainwater said Sunday night he can appreciate the skepticism of the public when they read that a public official has been accused of some financial wrong-doing, but, he said the information he is releasing clearly shows he has not violated the city's purchasing policy.
Here is a list of some of the expenses called into question and Rainwater's explanation for each of them:
Goody's: Shirts that were purchased so that they could be embroidered with the Flowery Branch logo, names, and titles for the Mayor, Council, City Manager, and City Clerk to wear to the Georgia Municipal Association Annual Conference
Publix: Costs associated primarily with this year's Better Hometown Easter/Spring Festival
Walmart: Primarily routine office supplies
CVS: A calculator for use in City Hall (believed to be $12.99, according to Rainwater)
Regal Cinemas and a sporting goods store: Employee Safety/Morale Incentives (routine expenses designed to retain employees and prevent very expensive on the job injuries).
