Gainesville trucker injured in wreck that killed 2,000 chickens

ANDERSON, SOUTH CAROINA - A Gainesville truck driver got into an accident Monday that killed more than 2,000 chickens.<br> <br> The crash happened on I-85 in Anderson, South Carolina.<br> <br> 47-year-old James Armour of Gainesville was driving a load of chickens for Fieldale Farms of Baldwin. Then a second truck driven by 34-year-old Anthony Meadow of Union, South Carolina, struck the chicken truck. Police say both trucks went into the median and turned over.<br> <br> Armour was trapped for more than two hours following the accident. He was taken by helicopter to a Greenville hospital and was being kept overnight for observation.<br> <br> Both are expected to recover and the accident is still under investigation.<br> <br> A crew from Fieldale Farms handled the clearing of the chickens.
