Former South Carolina Olympian named to marketing post

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) Dawn Ellerbe, a former NCAA champion and Olympian from South Carolina, has been named the school&#39;s director of marketing for Olympic sports.<br> <br> Ellerbe finished seventh in the hammer throw at the Sydney Olympics in 2000 and was a 12-time USATF national champion. While at South Carolina, Ellerbe won four NCAA titles and five Southeastern Conference crowns. Ellerbe also won a gold medal in the hammer at the 1999 Pan Am Games.<br> <br> In her new job, Ellerbe will try to increase ticket sales and revenue in women&#39;s basketball, volleyball, softball and men&#39;s and women&#39;s soccer. Last year, Ellerbe worked at the school&#39;s Colonial Center where she worked on developing strategies for Hispanic marketing efforts.
