GAINESVILLE - Hall County, in cooperation with the City of Gainesville has added a new interactive Geographic Information System (GIS) mapping tool to its Web site.

This enables enables anyone to access the county's GIS data around-the-clock over the Internet.

Users can search the site by property owner, site address or tax parcel number, using mapping tools to zoom, pan, measure and identify data. The Web site presents the data as layers of information which can be toggled on & off, allowing the user to view only the desired features.

Users also have the ability to print maps of a desired area. Available data layers includes tax parcels with ownership information, zoning, aerial photography, contour data, subdivisions, county commission & election precinct districts, school & fire station locations, and municipal boundaries.

Data will be kept current through monthly updates to the GIS feature.
