Stephens, Arellano, Dunn chosen for GASCA All-Star game

GAINESVILLE - Gainesville's Mark Stephens and Johnson's Francisco Arellano have been selected to play in the Georgia Soccer Coaches Association (GASCA) 2005 Senior All-Star game Sunday, May 22 at Lassiter High School in Marietta.

Stephens helped lead the Red Elephants to a 16-3-1 record, a trip to the Class AAA quarterfinals and a No. 1 state ranking for most of the season.

Arellano helped lead the Knights to a 19-3 record and a semifinal berth and scored 54 goals in his senior year.

In addition to the two local players, Johnson coach Mark Dunn has been chosen to coach the Boys 1A-4A team along with Bunky Colvin of McIntosh, Jesus Soares of Druid Hills and Gary Blohm of The Walker School.

The girls All-star game begins at 5 p.m. followed by the boys game at 7 p.m.

Admission is $7 for adults and $5 for students.
