Ole Miss beats South Carolina

OXFORD, MISSISSIPPI - Chris Coghlan homered and had four RBIs as Mississippi defeated South Carolina 8-4 on Sunday.<br> <br> The Rebels (37-16, 15-12 Southeastern Conference) led 8-0 after five innings. Coghlan&#39;s two-run shot, his sixth on the season, came in the third inning after Ole Miss had taken a 6-0 lead. Coghlan also singled in two runs in the Rebels&#39; six-run second inning.<br> <br> South Carolina (34-19, 13-14) got one run back in the sixth inning on Steve Pearce&#39;s solo home run, his 16th on the year. Pearce singled in the seventh inning, batting in two of South Carolina&#39;s three runs.<br> <br> Winning pitcher Eric Fowler (5-2) struck out 11 and walked two in 6 1-3 innings.<br> <br> Losing pitcher Jason Fletcher (5-5) allowed four runs in 1 1-3 innings.
