HIGH POINT, N.C. - Brett Linnenkohl knocked in five runs, including a three-run homer to open the scoring as Wake Forest beat High Point 19-13 in a non-conference game Tuesday.<br>

The Demon Deacons (24-26), who snapped a three-game losing streak, overcame a 5-4 deficit with nine runs in the top of the fourth inning. Wake Forest sent 14 batters to the plate and seven delivered singles. Ryder Mathias and Linnenkohl each had two-run singles, while Brendan Enick, Casey Sterk, Grant Achilles and Ben Ingold had RBI singles.<br>

The Demon Deacons led 3-0 after Linnenkohl belted his fourth home run of the season in the second inning. Wake Forest added single runs in the fifth, seventh and eighth, as well as three runs in the sixth.<br>

High Point (18-34) answered with a run in the second, then added four scores on four hits in the third inning to lead 5-4.<br>

The Panthers batted around the order in the fifth inning, scoring five runs on three singles and a double to make it 14-10.<br>
<br>
Jeremy Neyra, who led the Panthers with four RBI, added a three-run homer in the seventh inning to cut the Demon Deacons' lead to 18-13.<br>
<br>
Wake Forest freshman Matt Hammond (3-6) picked up the victory in relief, allowing seven earned runs on 10 hits. Nick Thompson was charged with the loss for the Panthers after allowing 13 runs on 10 hits in four innings of work.
