S.C.-Aiken holds lead as Burkhart shoots second straight 68

SAVANNAH, Ga. (AP) Dane Burkhart shot a second straight 68 Thursday to carry South Carolina-Aiken into the lead after three rounds in the NCAA Division II Men's Golf Championships at the par-71 Club at Savannah Harbor course.<br>

Burkhart had a total of 6-under par 207, a three-shot lead over Nick Mason of Hawaii-Hilo, to lead South Carolina-Aiken to a three-round total of 865 and head into Friday's final round four strokes ahead of Armstrong Atlantic's 869 in a tournament delayed by rain and lightning the first two days.<br>

Armstrong Atlantic's Chris Epperson shot a 4-under 67 in the third round to share the low score for the day with Mason, whose Hawaii-Hilo team was tied for third with St. Edwards University at 879.<br>

Jonathan Cox (71) of Armstrong Atlantic was tied for fourth in individual scores with a 2-over total of 215, while teammate Tripp Coggins (71) was grouped with South Carolina-Aiken's Scott Brown (73) and Clint Smith (75) in an 11-way tie for 14th place at 218.<br>
