Picayune man wins $7M at Gulfport Grand Casino slot

<p>John T. "Tom" Madison of Picayune has won a $7.16 million slot machine jackpot at Grand Casino Gulfport.</p><p>Madison hit the jackpot Monday night on the MegaJackpot $1 slot machine.</p><p>Madison said he usually plays $120 on the machine when he visits the Grand, which he's been doing since 1994.</p><p>Madison was up about $5 when the three Megabucks symbols appeared. His wife, Geraldine, heard him screaming across the casino floor.</p><p>Early plans for the money included buying his wife a new house, his daughter a new car and being "debt-free by Friday," Madison said.</p><p>Megabucks progressive slots are a 3-coin slot and are linked to casinos throughout the state.</p><p>Madison is the third gambler to win more than $1 million at the Grand Casino Gulfport in just under a year. Clarence Williams of Georgia won $1.8 million in November and Rebecca Margaritis, also of Georgia, won $1.7 million last April.</p><p>In 2001, a Long Beach woman, Alfreda Edelinski, won $7.69 million on the 25-cent Wheel of Fortune at the Grand Casino Gulfport.</p>
