GAINESVILLE - Plans to close the Warren Featherbone/PlaySafe Inc. plant in Gainesville - announced in February - are being finalized.

The Industrial Properties Group (IPG), Inc., says it has been selected to market the property and it should be ready for occupancy by a new tenant by July.

Officials said when they announced the plant closing that the 100-or-so workers who will be losing their jobs would have 4-6 weeks of work before the layoffs.

The Warren Featherbone Company was founded over 100 years ago in Michigan and has produced numerous types of goods including infant apparel, plastic products and disposable diapers.

Founded in 1991, IPG is an industrial real estate company serving clients and customers throughout northeast Georgia with offices in Gainesville and Monroe.
