UNDATED - Gasoline prices in Gainesville have gone down about ten cents a gallon in the past two-and-a-half weeks, reflecting a nationwide decline.

You can now find regular unleaded for around $2.10 in many places in Gainesville. On April 7, it was selling for $2.20.

Meanwhile, figures show the average price for all grades of gasoline nationwide has fallen nearly four and a-half cents per gallon in two weeks.

Industry analyst Trilby Lundberg cites a drop in crude oil prices and slightly lower demand as reasons for the decline.

Lundberg says the average retail price for all three grades dropped 4.46 cents to $2.27 per gallon in the two-week period ending Friday.

Self-serve regular averaged $2.24 a gallon.

The drop comes after an average 19-cent jump in overall gas prices during the last survey.
