Duke's Goestenkors tapped to coach USA team

DURHAM, N.C. (AP) Duke coach Gail Goestenkors will lead the USA Basketball under-19 world championship team.<br>

Felisha Legette-Jack of Hofstra University and Carol Ross of the University of Mississippi will be assistant coaches, USA Basketball announced Thursday.<br>
<br>
Last summer, Goestenkors was an assistant coach on the U.S. Olympic team that won the gold medal in Athens. She held the same position on the gold-medal winning 2002 world championship team.<br>
<br>
In 2003, Goestenkors earned the Naismith coach of the year award along with the Women's Basketball Coaches Association honor.<br>
<br>
Trials for the 12-member under-19 team will be May 19-22 at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colo.<br>
