Mays wins second straight State Championship

DULUTH, Ga. (AP) Rashad Chase scored 27 points and Mays won its second straight state championship, beating Tucker 63-56 in the Class AAAA title game Friday.<br> <br> Mays (28-4) took control early, sprinting to a 21-10 lead in the first quarter and holding off every challenge from Tucker (27-4), which got within six points twice in the fourth quarter but no closer.<br> <br> ``Last year we had a whole team full of players,&#39;&#39; said Chase, a Georgia State signee. ``We were only about eight deep this year so we had to slow it down some. That probably makes this one a little more special.&#39;&#39;<br> <br> Tucker (27-4) earned its spot in the championship with big shooting nights from Cameron Tatum and Damaian Duncan in a semifinal win over Sandy Creek, but both found the going tough Friday. Duncan finished with 16 points and Tatum 15 after they combined for 59 in the semifinals.<br> <br> Tatum&#39;s basket with just over six minutes to play capped a 9-2 run that pulled the Tigers within six, but Chase stopped the run with a three-point play.
