Wrestler Lex Luger, charged earlier this week with DUI after authorities said they found him slumped over his steering wheel, was sentenced to five years of probation Thursday in a separate steroid-possession case.

The wrestler, whose real name is Lawrence Pfohl, pleaded guilty to possessing three types of steroids. Asked by Cobb County Chief Magistrate Judge Frank Cox if he was guilty, Luger replied, "Yes, sir."

Pfohl, 46, also was ordered to pay a $1,000 fine and submit to drug tests. Pfohl called police to his home in April 2003 when his girlfriend started choking during dinner. Wrestling icon "Miss Elizabeth" Hulette's subsequent death was ruled an overdose, but police found more than 1,000 illegal pills when they searched the couple's house.

In a separate incident, Pfohl was found in his car on the side of Interstate-575 Monday morning, and when police woke him up he drove away, said Cherokee County Sheriff's spokeswoman Nicole Ebbeskotte. He was arrested and now faces DUI and other charges.

___

HASH(0x1a7b09c)
