Police officer killed in a traffic accident

<p>A Henry County police officer responding to a burglary call was killed Wednesday in a traffic accident.</p><p>Officers responding to a 5 a.m. alarm call discovered an apparent burglary in progress, said Lt. Jason Bolton.</p><p>"The suspects attempted to run over our officers, shots were fired and a short vehicle chase ensued," Bolton said. "Three suspects were ultimately arrested."</p><p>The officer involved in the accident was responding to a call for additional help, Bolton said.</p><p>The officer's car collided with a Dodge pickup truck on Ga. 20 just east of I-75. The police cruiser overturned, coming to rest on the front lawn of a Taco Bell restaurant.</p><p>"That officer was critically injured, and died on the way to the hospital," Bolton said.</p><p>The officer's name was being withheld until his relatives could be notified.</p><p>___</p><p>HASH(0x2866698)</p>
