Georgia Southern whips Savannah St.

SAVANNAH, Ga. (AP) Elton Nesbitt scored 19 points to lead five Georgia Southern players in double figures Monday night in a 92-64 victory over Savannah State, the only team in NCAA Division I to remain winless.<br> <br> The Eagles (13-8) led from the beginning, starting with a 3-pointer by Terry Williams 50 seconds into the game, and almost doubled the scoring by Savannah State (0-24) with a 46-24 halftime lead.<br> <br> Georgia Southern led much of the second half by about 30 points, bulging to 34 points at 7:10 to play, and had a 92-62 advantage when the Tigers&#39; Alvin Edwards hit a layup with three seconds left for the final margin.<br> <br> Jean Francois scored 16 points, Williams and Donte Gennie had 12 apiece, and Louis Graham had 11 points and 13 rebounds for the Eagles.<br> <br> Savannah State shot just 37.9 percent (22-58) for the game and was outrebounded 51-39. Sherard Reddick led the Tigers with 21 points and eight rebounds.
