GAINESVILLE - Drug distribution charges have been filed against a Gainesville man following a routine traffic stop.

Lt. Gary Entrekin of the Gainesville Police Department says the charges involve 12 pieces of crack cocaine found in a car driven by 34-year-old Eric Lamont Childers.

Lt. Entrekin says the officers found the crack in a "small pill bottle" under the driver's seat of the car after Childers consented to a search of the vehicle. Entrekin says the officers asked to search the car because Childers was "acting suspicious."

The arrest was made about midnight Monday on Dorsey Street.
