More than 90 dogs, 80 birds and 30 cats were found Monday on a farm south of Westminster, S.C., at the home of Evelyn M. Nelson, Oconee County animal control officers said. Nelson operates Sandie's Pets and Supplies in Toccoa, Ga., officials said.
Nelson is being treated at Oconee Memorial Hospital, where officials would not say how long she had been hospitalized.
Animal control officers went to Nelson's home after a neighbor reported the conditions at the residence. Some dead animals were found at the residence, according to animal control officers.
No charges have been filed.
