Birmingham Southern 68, Coastal Carolina 55

CONWAY, S.C. (AP) Jakob Sigurdarson scored 16 points and grabbed six rebounds to lead Birmingham Southern to a 68-55 victory over Coastal Carolina on Saturday.<br> <br> The Panthers (15-13, 7-9 Big South Conference) took an early 9-2 lead and never trailed. They led 35-27 at halftime.<br> <br> Coastal Carolina (10-18, 7-9) cut the to 38-37 with 15:33 left in the game but the Panthers went on a 11-2 run. The Chanticleers again cut the lead to five with 5:20 to go, but Birmingham Southern&#39;s 13-5 run sealed the victory.<br> <br> James Collins added 14 points and Vitas Augustinas added 11 points and seven rebounds.<br> <br> Jack Leasure and Pele Paelay had 10 apiece for the Chanticleers.<br> <br> Birmingham Southern earned the No. 4 seed in the conference tournament and will host Radford on Tuesday. Eighth-seeded Coastal Carolina heads to Rock Hill on Tuesday to meet top-seeded Winthrop.
