Georgia St. falls to Va. Commomwealth, 67-54

RICHMOND, Va. (AP) Jesse Pellot-Rosa scored a career-high 17 points Tuesday as Virginia Commonwealth came back in the second half to defeat Georgia State 67-54 in the Colonial Athletic Association.<br>

Herman Favors' jumper with 5:52 remaining in the first half gave the Panthers (2-6, 1-2 CAA) a 28-12 lead. Over the remainder of the game, Georgia State was 6-of-25 from the field and had 18 turnovers.<br>

The Rams (6-2, 2-1) cut the lead to 38-29 at halftime on Alexander Harper's 3-pointer with 6.5 seconds left. The Rams took a 42-40 lead on Nick George's jumper with 14:11 left.<br>

After the Panthers scored a couple of baskets, Eric Maynor had a layup and then hit two free throws with 11:52 remaining, giving the Rams a 46-44 lead that they never relinquished.<br>

Harper scored 12 points, and Eric Davis and George added 11 apiece for Virginia Commonwealth.<br>
<br>
Boyd Copeland led the Panthers with 11 points, and Favors added 10.<br>
