CLARKESVILLE - Habersham County Commissioners have okayed a noise ordinance for the county.

The ordinance establishes times that "unreasonably loud noise" will be prohibited, and allows for exemptions, mainly those associated with emergencies and emergency work.

The ordinance also gives the job of enforcement to the sheriffs's office and the Code enforcement officer, as well as establishing penalties for violations.

It had been tabled earlier this month.
