CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas (AP) Texas A Christi held Savannah State to 7 points in the first half of a 90-45 victory in the opening round of the Islanders Classic on Thursday night.<br> <br> Savannah State (1-13) made just 2 of 23 shots in the first half (9 percent) and 13 of 54 for the game. The Islanders led 33-7 at halftime.<br> <br> Cedric Smith led all scorers with 23 points off the bench for A Christi (8-4). Smith was 11-of-14 from the field and had seven rebounds.<br> <br> Terry Hill led Savannah State with 15 points.<br> <br> Savannah State warmed up enough to score 38 points in the second half, but the Islanders shot 58 percent and scored 57 points after halftime.<br> <br> (Copyright 2005 by The Associated Press.
