TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) Florida State tailback Leon Washington missed practice for the second straight day Tuesday and could be replaced in the starting lineup this weekend against North Carolina State.
Washington was receiving treatment on his sprained left ankle, but coach Bobby Bowden said it will likely be a game-time decision on whether Lorenzo Booker would take Washington's spot in the lineup Saturday.
Booker leads the 9th-ranked Seminoles with 388 yards rushing and is fourth on the team in receptions. Washington is second with 324 yards rushing.
Wide receiver De'Cody Fagg and cornerback Tony Carter both nursing separated shoulders will also await a late decision. Both have practiced this week but have been held out of contact drills.
``We'll probably decide on them Friday,'' Bowden said.
Also Tuesday, cornerback Trevor Ford (neck) returned to practice for the first time in three weeks. Ford wore a blue, non-contact jersey and was also held out of hitting situations.
``It is good to come back and play a game the magnitude of an N.C. State game,'' Ford said. ``I'm ready to go.''
