CLEMSON, S.C. (AP) Charlie Whitehurst is back at quarterback for Clemson.
Whitehurst started Saturday against Florida State, a week after he sat out with a sore shoulder. Coach Tommy Bowden had said Whitehurst would be the starter as long as he wasn't feeling a lot of pain.
Whitehurst has started 38 of the last 39 games for the Tigers and is the school's all-time leader with 9,019 yards passing.
Whitehurst's hurt his shoulder in Clemson's overtime loss to Boston College on Sept. 24. It kept getting worse and coach Tommy Bowden said it appear to affect the senior's throwing two weeks ago in a loss to Georgia Tech.
Junior Will Proctor had his first career start against Duke last week, going 13-of-21 for 201 yards and two touchdowns.
