Reece to receive award for smoking ban bill

GAINESVILLE - State Rep. Stacey Reece of Gainesville will be recognized by a state group next week for successfully pushing a statewide ban on smoking in public places through the legislature earlier this year.

Reece is to receive the Association County Commissioners of Georgia's 2005 Legislative Service Award.

"...Reece has consistently demonstrated his concern for the well-being of all Georgia citizens, and by his work in the General Assembly, he has acknowledged the vital role the counties have in protecting and serving the taxpayers of Georgia," said Jerry Griffin, ACCG Executive Director.
