Man acquitted of murder in park stabbing case

<p>A Jackson County man was acquitted by a Hall County Superior Court jury in the 2004 stabbing death of James Carlton Smith, 20, of Lula.</p><p>The jury on Thursday acquitted James Matthew Grizzle, 20, of Nicholson, on two counts of felony murder, aggravated battery and aggravated assault.</p><p>Jurors did, however, find Grizzle guilty of affray, a misdemeanor, in connection with the aggravated assault charge. Affray is the fighting of two or more people in a public place.</p><p>Jurors deliberated nearly six hours on Wednesday and most of Thursday before returning a verdict just after 4 p.m.</p><p>Grizzle has been held in the county detention center since Aug. 24, 2004, and will remain incarcerated until Judge Andrew C.
