Two top teams fall heading into schedule finale

ATLANTA (AP) With region seedings and championships on the line, four powerhouses from two regions battled and in each case No. 3 defeated No. 1 resulting in major realignments in this week&#39;s Associated Press high school football poll.<br> <br> Northside traveled to Warner Robins and not only walked off with a 14-7 win but, became the new No. 1 team in Class AAAA, taking the title from the defending state champion and leader for the entire season. Warner Robins falls to No. 4 while No. 3 Tucker moves up one and Statesboro remains at No. 2. Lee County&#39;s 42-41 victory over Thomas County Central elevated them three slots to No. 5 and dropped Thomas five to No. 10. No. 8 Rome jumped two positions.<br> <br> It was deja vu in Class A with Bowdon performing the same stunt against Bremen. Bowdon moves to No. 1 and Bremen to No. 4. McIntosh County Academy and Portal flip-flopped after MCI&#39;s 22-13 win. No. 3 Johnson County, No. 8 Turner County and No. 9 Lincoln County each climb a notch while No. 10 Warren County falls two slots after losing to Lincoln.<br> <br> Class AAAAA welcomes two new members No. 8 South Cobb and No. 10 Riverdale and loses Roswell and Valdosta. No. 9 Marietta falls five places as No. 4 Harrison, No. 5 Dacula and No. 7 Stephenson climb one. Camden County, Brookwood and Lowndes remain on top, respectively.<br> <br> Minor shuffling in Class AAA is reflected with No. 4 Jefferson County and No. 6 McNair exchanging places and No. 10 Peach County entering the poll and LaGrange exiting. Carrollton, Shaw and Cartersville continue to lead the rankings.<br> <br> The only changes in Class AA are No. 7 Laney, No. 8 Jackson and No. 9 Vidalia moving up a notch while Greater Atlanta Christian falls to No. 10 after losing to Buford 28-12.<br> <br> (Copyright 2005 by The Associated Press.
