Jefferson faces elimination in Class A tourney

COLUMBUS - The Jefferson girls softball team ran into a tough Pacelli team Thursday in the first rounf of the Class A state tournament at the Columbus Softball Complex.<br> <br> The Lady Dragons fell 7-1 to Pacelli and will play Savannah Country Day at 9 a.m. Friday in an elimination game.<br> <br> The winner of that game will take on Trion in another elimination game.<br> <br> In other action, Bowden beat Taylor County 1-0 and then Trion 2-1 to advance to the semifinal round. Gordon Lee beat Savannah Country Day 10-0 and then Pacelli 6-0 to also advance to the semifinals.<br> <br> Trion beat Brookstone 2-0 before losing to Bowden. Pacelli will await the Brookstone-Taylor County winner in the other elimination game Friday.
