County fires official accused of holding woman against her will

<p>A DeKalb County official who was charged with imprisoning a 19-year-old woman in a hotel has been fired, county officials said.</p><p>Lance Robertson, deputy chief of staff to Chief Executive Officer Vernon Jones, was fired on Dec. 8. The termination letter signed by Chief of Staff Ann Kimbrough listed no reason for the firing. As Jones' political appointee, Robertson served at the will of the chief executive officer and could be fired without cause, said county spokesman Burke Brennan.</p><p>Robertson, 43, is charged with imprisoning the woman on the night of July 30 and the morning of July 31. The woman had testified that she met him at the W Hotel in Dunwoody and had several drinks with him. She woke up naked in his hotel room, not knowing how she had gotten there.</p><p>Robertson, who had been deputy chief of staff since 2001, has denied any wrongdoing.
