<p>A small plane arriving from Atlanta crashed at the Charleston International Airport killing one person Monday night, authorities said.</p><p>The pilot of the Piper PA30 Twin Comanche, registered to G.J. Air LLC of Charleston died when the aircraft wobbled and dove steeply into the runway around 7:30 p.m., exploding into a fireball, aviation officials and witnesses said.</p><p>The pilot was identified as Archie T. Simpson, 63, of Johns Island, Chief Deputy Coroner Rae Wooten said Tuesday.</p><p>She said the plane had arrived earlier from Atlanta and was taking off again, but she did not know where the plane was going.</p><p>It is not known where the plane was heading because its flight plan was not immediately available, Federal Aviation Administration spokeswoman Kathleen Bergen said.</p><p>David Norton watched the plane crash from the terminal. First, he saw the lights on the plane's wings teetering back and forth, then it went into a steep dive and crashed on the runway.</p><p>"There's no way anyone could survive that," Norton said.</p><p>The airport's runways were shut down for about an hour after the crash.</p>
