<p>Brian Jordan is coming back to the Atlanta Braves.</p><p>The team agreed to a contract with the 37-year-old outfielder, who played with the Braves from 1999-01 and still lives in suburban Atlanta. Terms were not immediately available.</p><p>Jordan played last season with the Texas Rangers, hitting just .222 with five homers and 23 RBIs in 61 games. Plagued by injuries, he has played just 127 games over the last two seasons.</p><p>The Braves were looking to bolster their depth in the outfield after losing free agent J.D. Drew and trading Eli Marrero and Charles Thomas. Last week, Atlanta signed Raul Mondesi, who said he's been promised the chance to start in right field.</p><p>Jordan will likely be given a chance to contend for the left-field job, along with several younger players. At the very least, he would give the Braves an experienced backup.</p><p>During his three years in Atlanta, Jordan was a solid contributor. He had a career-high 115 RBIs in 1999, then hit .295 with 25 homers and 97 RBIs in '01. After that season, he was traded to the Los Angeles Dodgers in a deal that brought Gary Sheffield to the Braves.</p><p>Jordan's production dropped off significantly after he left the Braves, largely because of injuries.</p><p>Jordan began his professional career in the NFL, playing safety for the Altanta Falcons. But he decided to put his focus on baseball, spending his first seven years with the St. Louis Cardinals.</p>
