Dacula dentist back in Gwinnett County

<p>The Dacula dentist charged in the shooting deaths of his wife and a former girlfriend has been moved to the Gwinnett County Jail.</p><p>Barton Corbin was moved back to Gwinnett County from Augusta on Wednesday.</p><p>A judge has ordered him to attend a court hearing Friday about the decision by Gwinnett County Superior Court Judge Melodie Snell Conner to step down from the case. Conner has cited the signing of a search warrant in the police investigation as her reason for wanting to step down.</p><p>Superior Court Judge Michael Clark also has ordered Corbin to appear at an arraignment hearing Jan. 31 to enter a plea in the death of his wife, Jennifer Corbin. Her body was found Dec. 4 at the couple's home in Buford. She had been killed by a single gunshot wound to the head, prompting authorities to initially treat the death as a suicide.</p><p>One of Corbin's attorneys, David Wolfe, said the defense team may waive their client's arraignment.</p><p>Corbin's former girlfriend, Dolly Hearn, also died from a single gunshot wound to the head while the two were in dental school in Augusta in 1990. That death was also first thought to be a suicide.</p><p>Authorities are also investigating whether the dentist was involved in the death of a third woman, 56-year-old Harriet Gray, who worked for a former dental partner of Corbin's before she disappeared in 1996.
