So far, the Eagles are getting their wish. Riverside improved to 2-0 Friday night after a 41-13 whipping of Central Fellowship at Maginnis Field.
A potent running attack and an efficient passing attack have been the standards for the Eagles so far in 2004.
Riverside quarterback Tanner Shamblin went 5-for-5 for 55 yards, to go with the bruising rushing of Carl Robinson, who has a solid offensive line to run behind.
Robinson rushed for 196 yards and three touchdowns on 17 carries.
"Carl Robinson is probably the best running back I've seen," Riverside coach Doug Dixon said. "He's a threat to score every time he touches the ball."
Russ Russells added a 67-yard TD run.
The Riverside defense, led by Caleb Donavan and Jay McGriff, was flying around all night and allowed just 62 yds of total offense while blocking two punts and getting one interception.
Next week the Eagles will find the challenge a little tougher when they travel to Millegeville to take on a strong John Millege Academy. Riverside won last year's meeting 24-7 at home.
