Dublin forfeits two games because of ineligible player

DUBLIN - Dublin High School had to forfeit its first two wins this season and was fined an additional $200 for using an ineligible player.<br> <br> Dublin coach Roger Holmes reported to the Georgia High School Association on Wednesday that the incident involved a player with misplaced credits in the transcripts.<br> <br> A GHSA spokesman said that in order for the games to be forfeited, the player must have seen action in both of the games.<br> <br> ``It&#39;s basically what we would term a clerical oversight,&#39;&#39; said a spokesman for the GHSA.<br> <br> Dublin High School learned about the player&#39;s transcripts from a West Laurens faculty member last week. Holmes indicated that when he first looked at the transcript that the student in question appeared to have only two credits passed instead of three.<br> <br> Dublin&#39;s record now stands at 1-2.
