Tougher parking rules announced for N.C. State football games

RALEIGH, N.C. - Parking at North Carolina State University home football games will tighten after the shooting deaths of two men during a tailgate party last week.<br> <br> The plan will limit access to the state fairgrounds lot where the men were shot to ticketholders, allotting 600 spaces for students and 600 for others. Law enforcement officers will now patrol the lot.<br> <br> Student parking permits will be issued through normal ticket distribution centers. The Wolfpack Club, the school&#39;s athletic booster club, will mail parking permits to eligible season-ticket holders.<br> <br> Also, the fairground lot will have controlled access beginning at 8 a.m. of the day before a game. On game day, fairground parking will open three hours before game time.<br> <br> The changes are similar to parking procedures at Carter-Finley Stadium and the nearby RBC Center. They go into place for N.C. State&#39;s Sept. 18 game against Ohio State.<br> <br> Two men have been charged with first-degree murder in the shootings before N.C. State&#39;s season-opener Saturday against Richmond.<br> <br> The plan was developed by the state Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services and the university.
