Albany St. whips Lane

ALBANY - Uyl Joyner passed for 217 yards and four touchdowns and ran for two in a 55-6 blowout by Albany State over Lane on Saturday.<br> <br> The Rams (4-0) took a 7-0 lead in the first quarter on Joyner&#39;s 1-yard run off a punt by Adrian Arango.<br> <br> The Dragons (2-2) scored their only TD on a 19-yard pass from Kenneth Irby to close the gap, 7-6, in the second.<br> <br> Joyner threw for four TDs in a row, starting with a 44-yard pass to Alvin Jackson, giving Albany State a 14-6 lead at the half. Joyner added three more in the third to put the Rams up, 35-6.<br> <br> Jermain Collins then scored on a 35-yard fumble return for Albany State. Dontre Williams scored on a 23-yard run in the fourth.<br> <br> Joyner completed 12 of 18 passes for 217 yards, and Antonio Atkins finished with 105 yards on 18 carries. The Dragons&#39; Irby completed 16 of 33 passes for 117 yards.
