Lady War Eagles split tri-match

WINDER - The Chestatee girls volleyball team defeated Brenau Academy 2-0, but lost to Apalacee 2-0, Thursday in a tri-match.<br>

Chestatee (9-8, 4-5 in region) beat Brenau Academy 25-18 in the first game and 25-16 in the second game.<br>
<br>
Amber Jackson for Chestatee put together a great game with six service aces in the second game. <br>
<br>
As a team overall, Chestatee had a great game with all eight varsity players recording a kill.<br>
<br>
Coach Mike Paul for Chestatee was pleased with his teams team work.<br>
<br>
"We played with a great blance against Brenau Academy," he said. <br>
<br>
In the second match, Class AAA fifth-ranked Apalachee easily defeated the Lady War Eagles 2-0.<br>
<br>
Apalachee won the first game 25-15 and then 25-9 in the second.<br>
<br>
"We played great even though we lost. Apalachee is definitely one of the best teams in the state. They played with power and had great passing," Paul said. <br>
<br>
Chestatee will play Pickens and Gainesville Tuesday afternoon at Pickens.
