Fort Valley St. whips Benedict

FORT VALLEY - Derrick Wimbush ran for 203 yards and three touchdowns, leading Fort Valley State to a 38-14 victory over Benedict on Saturday.<br>

Wimbush, who had 22 carries, scored on runs of 36, 5 and 7 yards, the first two helping the Wildcats (5-0, 4-0 Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference) to a 24-7 halftime lead.<br>

Benedict (1-3, 0-2) scored on a pair of 1-yard runs, the first by Jeffery Nobles in the first quarter and the second by Demarr Drummond in the fourth.<br>

Fort Valley's other scores came on a 17-yard pass from Willie Copeland to Ishmae Williams, an 8-yard run by Brian Knighton and a 35-yard field goal by Andrew Jacas.
