Lady War Eagles split pair of matches

JASPER - The Chestatee girls volleyball team split a pair of matches Tuesday in a tri-match with Pickens County and Gainesville in Area 7-AAA play.<br> <br> The Lady War Eagles (10-9, 5-6) lost to host and once-beaten Pickens 25-19 and 25-6 in their opening match. They turned around and then beat gainesville 25-12 and 25-20.<br> <br> In the Gainesville match Jennifer Osborne won nine straight service points and Chestatee recorded 11 service aces in the match.<br> <br> Chestatee coach Mike Paul thinks his team is improving.<br> <br> &#34;We played very well at times and the important thing is that we get better each match as the area tournament gets closer,&#34; Paul said. &#34;I think we&#39;re doing that.&#34;<br> <br> The top two teams in each area in Class AAA with advance to the playoffs. West Hall is undefeated in area play and Pickens has just one loss. Johnson, North Hall, Chestatee and Flowery Branch could all play factors in the area tournament this year.
