ATLANTA - Tracy Ham has been fired as head football coach at Clark Atlanta after two losing seasons and replaced by defensive coordinator Tayrone Odums as interim head coach.
Ham had a career record of 2-20 with the Panthers, including 0-11 last season.
The team is scheduled to report Thursday and begin practice this weekend.
Athletics director Brenda Edmond said Tuesday the move was a ``management decision.''
``I'm not mad at anyone,'' Ham said. ``It's just part of coaching.''
Ham, 40, was a quarterback for two NCAA Division I-AA national championship teams at Georgia Southern in the 1980s. He said Edmond asked him to resign last week, but he refused. He said she sent him a termination letter that arrived at his office Friday, when he was out of town.
Clark Atlanta has not had a winning season since 1991. Injuries and disciplinary actions against some players have hurt the Panthers' depth. By the end of last season, Ham had only 39 players on the roster.
