ATHENS - Georgia recruit Robert Dozier, a 6-foot-8 forward from Lithonia, will attend prep school instead of playing for the Bulldogs next season after failing to meet NCAA requirements for the SAT.

Dozier was widely considered the best big man in the state behind Dwight Howard, who was the No. 1 pick in the NBA draft, and Randolph Morris, who signed with Kentucky. Insiders.com rated Dozier the 10th-best small forward in the country.

He averaged 16.9 points and 10.2 rebounds as a senior at Lithonia, which reached the Class AAAAA semifinals.

The loss of Dozier leaves Georgia with eight scholarship players. Four signees guards Channing Tony of Snellville and Sundiata Gaines of Queens, N.Y., forward Younes Idriss of Morocco and center Dave Bliss of Wisconsin have all met entrance requirements.
