The $3 million facility was built with Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (SPLOST) monies.
The open house is scheduled from 1:00-5:00 p.m.
The new lockup is located on the new U.S. 441 Bypass and was built to house 60 inmates.
County officials say it could take as long as six weeks before prisoners are moved in because jail personnel need to be trained to operate the facility and there are some final inspections pending.
