Gainesville nursing home to mark 50th anniversary

GAINESVILLE - The Bell-Minor Home in Gainesville has been providing nursing home care for three generations - and will be celebrating its 50th anniversary later this month.<br>

Bell-Minor which was located on North Bradford Street for many, many years is now located on Old Hamilton Place.<br>
<br>
Kick-off of a year-long celebration marking the golden anniversary is planned Sunday August 29.<br>
<br>
Officials says it is for any former staff members and families of current or former residents or any former residents - and they are soliciting pictures and memorabilia for a "Memories Display."<br>
<br>
Doris G. Bell founded the nursing home in 1954 and later, her daughter, Marcia P. Strickland, took over the operation. Today, Russ Strickland is the third-generation administrator.<br>
<br>
